My Spiritual Progression Portfolio
Identity Statement:

My spiritual journey is a path of faith, resilience, and restored identity. I am a disciple of Jesus Christ, a father striving to lead with love, and a man who has learned to trust spiritual impressions through both adversity and unexpected blessings. The Lord has shaped my life through humble beginnings, immigration, fatherhood, service, and constant refinement. This portfolio reflects who I am becoming and the divine help that continues to guide my steps.
Foundational Beliefs That Anchor My Spiritual Life
Core Foundations:

1. God is aware of me individually.
From my childhood in rural Cameroon to my life as a father in the United States, I have seen evidence that the Lord knows my circumstances and guides my path.

2. True spiritual growth requires effort and humility.
My progression has always come through small, consistent actions — prayer, repentance, service, and obedience.

3. Family is a sacred stewardship.
Leadership in fatherhood is my greatest responsibility. It shapes my priorities, my discipleship, and my sense of covenant purpose.

4. The Spirit guides through impressions, warnings, and quiet confirmations.
Many decisions in my life — some misunderstood by others — came from spiritual impressions that later brought protection, clarity, and long-term blessings.

5. Covenants connect me to Jesus Christ.
Covenants have helped me develop spiritual confidence, identity, and belonging.
Moments That Changed My Spiritual Direction
Turning Point 1 — Coming to the United States Alone (2011)

Leaving my country without family required courage I did not fully understand at the time. In isolation, I learned to rely on God for direction, strength, and emotional survival. This period built my spiritual independence.

Turning Point 2 — Fatherhood and Spiritual Responsibility
The birth of my children awakened a deeper sense of stewardship. Fatherhood became a spiritual calling that shaped my prayers, my decisions, my desire for protection, and my commitment to lead through example and faith.

Turning Point 3 — Warnings From the Spirit

Multiple experiences taught me that spiritual impressions are real and protective. Acting on these warnings cost me temporarily — misunderstandings, loneliness, and difficult choices — but they protected my family from unseen dangers. Those trials strengthened my testimony of revelation.

Turning Point 4 — Conversion, Covenants, and Discipleship

My spiritual life transformed when I embraced the restored gospel. Covenants grounded my identity, clarified my purpose, and expanded my desire to serve in church callings, at home, and in my community.

Turning Point 5 — Health Transformation and Stewardship Over My Body

After receiving medical warnings about my health, I felt a spiritual prompting to change. Running, soccer, and disciplined habits became part of my spiritual stewardship — strengthening both body and spirit.
Lessons From the Unexpected Path
(Inspired by Elder Isaac K. Morrison)
The unexpected paths of my life — academic struggles, immigration challenges, career uncertainty, and difficult family decisions — have become some of my greatest spiritual classrooms.

From these experiences I learned:

-
The Lord often leads me through paths I would not choose on my own.
-
Obedience can feel costly in the short term but brings protection and long-term blessings.
-
Spiritual confidence grows when I move forward despite fear.
-
God works through “small and simple” steps, not dramatic events.
-
My weaknesses can become strengths when I act with faith.

The unexpected path did not derail me — it refined me.
Climbing My Own Mount Sinai
(Reflection inspired by Casey Hurley)
My “Mount Sinai” has been learning to act with courage on spiritual impressions even when I felt misunderstood.
Climbing this mountain has required:

-
faith when others questioned my decisions
-
the humility to accept temporary loss for long-term spiritual safety
-
the discipline to build my life around covenant priorities
-
the courage to stand alone when needed
-
the patience to wait for divine confirmation

Every time I obeyed a spiritual prompting, even in difficulty, I found peace, protection, and direction. These experiences strengthened my trust that God is shaping something greater in my life than I can see today.

Final Reflection: How This Course Strengthened My Spiritual Identity

This course helped me recognize how the Lord has been shaping me throughout every chapter of my life. By reviewing my childhood, academic struggles, immigration journey, fatherhood, and professional responsibilities, I saw patterns of divine preparation that I had not fully noticed before.

My goals at the beginning of the course were to understand my spiritual identity, strengthen my discipleship, and align my professional life with my values. Through the assignments, reflections, and weekly spiritual exercises, I grew in several ways:

-
I gained confidence in recognizing spiritual impressions.
-
I understood that leadership in the home is my greatest calling.
-
I reconnected my professional goals with my covenant purpose.
-
I developed a long-term action plan that integrates faith and work.
-
I realized that my story itself is a testimony of resilience, protection, and divine guidance.

My goals evolved throughout the course. I now see my future through a spiritual lens, not just academic or professional. I understand that becoming a capable disciple means letting the Lord shape every part of my life — my family, my career, my health, and my daily actions.

This portfolio is not the end of a course — it is the beginning of a more intentional spiritual life.
Service-Learning Project: Prayer Slot Booking System
My service-learning project focuses on the creation and refinement of a Prayer Slot Booking System, a custom web application designed to help members reserve prayer assignments in a fair, respectful, and secure way.

This system replaces informal sign-ups with a structured process that protects privacy, enforces fairness, and maintains accountability. It merges technical skill, ethical decision-making, and spiritual purpose.
Reflection on Spiritual and Professional Growth
Throughout this semester, I have learned that spiritual principles and professional competencies reinforce one another.
My reflection on Doctrine and Covenants 58:26–28 about my temple visits strengthened my understanding of agency, personal responsibility, and proactive growth.
Technically, I developed skills in Linux, security, Node.js development, system refinement, and ethical design practices.
Spiritually, I grew in resilience, humility, compassion, and reliance on the Lord.
Together, these experiences shaped my identity as a disciple and as an emerging IT professional.
Guiding Principles: Resilience, Courage, Integrity
Resilience
Resilience allows me to overcome challenges with faith and steady effort. In school, work, and fatherhood, resilience has helped me grow through pressure and responsibility. It teaches me that progress is possible with perseverance and trust in God.
Courage
Courage enables me to take meaningful action even when the outcome is uncertain. Whether solving technical problems, refining systems, or improving personal habits, courage pushes me to move forward, act decisively, and rely on divine guidance.
Integrity
Integrity is central to discipleship and professional conduct. I strive to be honest, reliable, and consistent in my actions. Integrity influences how I manage user data, develop systems, and serve others. It builds trust and aligns my work with my spiritual values.
Together, these principles guide my spiritual growth and strengthen the way I approach my education, work, and service.
